COVID-19 GUIDANCE FOR PROVIDING A SAFE GROOMING ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL


IMPORTANT: Please do not come to the salon if you or anyone in your household has symptoms or is self isolating.  Please call and I can rearrange your appointment.


GROOMS WILL BE ON AN APPOINTMENT BASIS ONLY.   I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON NEW CLIENTS AT THE MOMENT.


(Please note that all safety procedures followed are in line with The Canine & Feline Sector Group (CFSG), DEFRA and Pet Industry Federation (PIF) latest guidance.) 


Although there is no evidence to suggest that dogs can transmit Coronavirus, it is possible that your dog could have traces of the virus on their coat or collar/lead.  So I will be maintaining strict social distancing at all times and wearing full PPE for the bath then changing to new clothes and a mask for the groom.   (I will look silly but who cares if we're all safe).   I will bathe your dog as soon as it arrives at the salon and carry out a full salon clean between grooms.  Your dog will be sprayed with an appropriate animal antiseptic spray before being returned to you (but please let me know if you would rather I didn't).  This is perfectly safe for your dog and simply ensures that there is no risk in me leaving traces of virus on your dog when returned to you.  


Until further notice please see the guidance below when bringing your dog in for a groom. 


* Entry will be through the garage at the rear of the property (via Westdean Avenue).  The door will be open for your arrival.  Please do not come to the front door.


* On arrival you should firstly use the hand sanitiser sitting on the dog crate.  Then please remove all collars, harnesses or coats and put your dog in the crate locking the door.  You should take the lead and collar home with you.   Then please stand back.  I will remove your dog from another door.  Sadly I won't be able to chat but will have discussed the groom with you already.  As I won't be able to give your dog a health check until you have left, I will call you if I find anything untoward which may alter the groom we have agreed I will carry out.  


* Your dog will be bathed immediately on arrival to minimise the risk of spreading any infection.


* I will tell you when to collect your dog  and adise on price - or arrange to call you 1 hour before pickup.  Please ensure you are on time to pick your dog up.  Pickup is from the same place as drop off.  


* Payment should ideally be made by bank transfer (I will provide you with my account details via text)  but if paying by cash please place in a plastic bag  or envelope in the box on top of the cage.  Please note I will be unable to give change. 


PLEASE ALSO NOTE I HAVE NOT INCREASED MY PRICES SINCE LOCKDOWN (THOUGH A TIP WOULD BE VERY GRATEFULLY RECEIVED)  - HOWEVER THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL £5 CHARGE FOR LIVE FLEAS FOUND, AND MAY BE AN EXTRA CHARGE FOR THIS GROOM IF I NEED SIGNIFICANTLY LONGER TO GET THROUGH A THICKER, POSSIBLY KNOTTY COAT.  ALSO CANCELLATIONS MADE WITHIN 12 HOURS OF THE GROOM WILL BE CHARGED AT FULL PRICE (AS THIS WILL LEAVE ME NO TIME TO RESCHEDULE).
